A wooden house from the seventies with a dreary garden is transformed and extended. The main
materials are walls of spruce stained matt black (both inside and outside), roof of fibre cement boards and oak floors.

Our solution to a very steep site was to park the cars and enter the house from the top. The building is a simple volume with minor deformations to make use of local opportunities and avoid local problems.
In 2001 the project was nominated to the European Mies van der Rohe award.
